FAQ’s

Where do you meet?

We outgrew our church hall many moons ago – so on Sunday mornings we meet at Kaurilands Primary School Hall – it’s much bigger and we love the relationship that this has created with the school.

What time should I arrive?

Well, the first service starts at 9:00am, but if you want to have a chat to our host team, get the rundown on all things TBC, we’d recommend turning up at around 8:50am. If you are planning on coming to the second service, you can turn up any time from 10:15am onwards – the service itself starts at 10:45am. Both services are intended to be identical – but, you know, God works in mysterious ways!

I've got Kids. Is there something for them?

Glen Cleary
You should meet Glen. He’s the Children’s Pastor, and would be keen as to meet you too. On Sundays, he runs ‘Soulkids Prime’ – which is a time for any children aged between 5 and 12. There is also Soulkids Creche and Soulkids Pre-school programmes. You can find out more by clicking here

What happens on a typical morning?

Well, we try not to be too typical and predictable really! We usually try to include a time of collective worship via singing, a message, and sometimes communion. Afterwards there’s time to catch up with people over a tea or coffee. One of the pillars of our church history has been really solid biblical teaching.

Where can I park?

The last thing you want to be worrying about is parking! That’s why we have tried to make it easy for you. On the image here, the red areas show First Time / Visitor Parking. The blue areas show disabled / low mobility parking, and the green areas are general parking parking

What are you like?

Haha – great question! TBC is a very family friendly church. In fact, a recent study found that we have more than the national average of kids represented on a sunday morning, perhaps because we have 4 really good schools located within 3km of the church buildings (and we meet in one of them!).

We are also firmly committed to participating in God’s mission in the Glen Eden Titirangi, and Kaurilands area. This is what we sometimes call a missional disposition – and as you browse the rest of the website you will gain a sense of what this is.

One of the key pillars of TBC has been it’s commitment to being a Bible based church. We really value the Bible as God’s story, revealed to us , and continually illuminated to us by The Holy Spirit. This means that we regularly have excellent, solid teaching.

Tell me about your history

Awesome! Glad you asked. TBC actually started off as an old army shack in the middle of a paddock in 1955. At that time, it wasn’t even a ‘church’, per se, but they ran sunday school for the local kids. Over time, things grew, and eventually “Kaurilands Church of Christ, Life and Advent” was born. The church continued to grow, as did the Kaurilands suburb.

In 1995, Kaurilands Church of Christ became Titirangi Baptist Church, and about the same time, our sunday service outgrew our church buildings and necessitated a shift to meeting in school halls. We initially met in the Glen Eden Intermediate hall, but we soon outgrew that too! We now meet at the Kaurilands School Hall.

Hosting Team

When you arrive on a sunday morning, look out for our hosting team. They’re the ones wearing name tags – so you’ll know someone’s name straight away! They can answer any questions you may have, as well as point you in the right direction for various people, ministries, etc.

New @ TBC

To help make being new just a tad easier, we have two key ways that you can get connected – both to other “newbies”, and to some of the “regulars”.

The first is a Newcomer’s Homegroup, and it’s a small group for those who are new to TBC. Every week you will get to know more about TBC from regulars, staff, and ministry leaders. Click here to register your interest!

The second is via our Facebook Group – NEW @ TBC. The NEW @ TBC team post updates, events, and just generally communicate here.
